"I devoured this book in two days! It’s not my usual chosen genre - although I love to watch murder mysteries on television I rarely read them. But I loved it. I could really picture the main character, Rose, who after a troubled past has got herself on the straight and narrow and has opened a muffin shop in Edinburgh. Alas, one day she opens the front door of the shop and the body of Sally, a young girl who used to work with Rose, falls across the threshold....... A few days later a student from the halls opposite is found dead. Are the two deaths connected?? The characters are written really vividly and it’s so easy to picture them and to hear them speak. Honestly, your mind will go around in circles trying to decide who is trustworthy and who isn’t.
I will definitely be reading the second book in the series as soon as it comes out!"

Murder on Morrison

The historic town of Edinburgh appears to be the perfect location for Rose McLaren to set up shop, creating delectable muffins and biscuits.

But a death that seemed like an accident brings Rose face to face with a darker and more sinister side of the city.

Despite several formidable warnings to stay out of things, finding a dead man on her bed is the final straw and Rose reconnects with an old ally from the other side of the fence.

In her debut as a sleuth, Rose learns that murder, close friends and past enemies all have a role to play in the mystery which she is determined to unravel and solve.
